Group Discussion on barriers faced PWDs in availing employment & Award Ceremony to Mark The International Day of Persons with Disabilities 3rd Decenber 2011

To celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities 3rd December 2011, Awareness Voluntary Organization organised a simple event in respect of the month of Muharan.
The chief guest was Ms Hijab Manzar Dy Director Social Welfare Department (Sindh). Also present were Mr Anwar Siddiqui D.D.O Jamshad Town Social Welfare Department (Sindh), Mr Naeem Abbasi Senior Journalist, Mr Asharaf & collegues from VREDP Karachi Department of Special Education (Sindh), Qari Saheb, The always energetic Community Service Volunteer Mr Sayed Muhammad Saeed, Bro Yonous Walter O.F.M. Community Service Volunteers from Telenor our Hum Kadam partners enthuiastic & energetic as always were also present along with Community Service Volunteers & members of Awareness Voluntary Organization.
The awards were given to the below mentioned NGOs taking in their dedication to place PWDs in Decent Employment.
- NOW PDP represented by Ms Humaira Bukhari & Ms Mariam
- APHA represented by Mr Sayed Muhammad Nishat
- DWA represented by Mr Javed Raes
- SUPPORT TRUST - could not attend due to some unavoidable circumstances
Speaking on the occasion Ms Hijab Manzar applaud the dedicating efforts of this NGOs & appreciated the gesture of encouragement by Awareness Voluntary Organization and assured that her department will not spare any efforts for this noble cause.
